Laminate Flooring Maintenance - How to Maintain your new Laminate Floor

One of the biggest benefits to Elka 8mm White Oak laminate flooring is its easy maintenance. Here are some tips to help keep your new laminate floor looking better for longer. The first thing you should do after having your laminate floor installed is to put felt pads underneath furniture legs to protect your flooring and prevent scratching.

With regards to cleaning your laminate floor, you should first remove loose dirt using either a broom or vacuum cleaner. This is important as you don’t want to be just moving the dirt around the floor when mopping. Then you should mop the floor with clean warm water. Make sure the mop is well rung out so that it is damp and not wet. You may want to add a specialist laminate cleaning product to the water or indeed another excellent tip for leaving a streak free finish on your floor would be to add a little vinegar to the water.

A final wipe of the floor afterwards with a dry micro-fibre mop or cloth will also help to ensure no moisture has been left behind and a help prevent streaking as well.
